I'm looking more for a writing-friend rather than "just" a critique partner. Swapping drafts for critiques is great and I want that as well, but I'm also looking for someone to chat about writing with, bounce ideas off of, maybe act a bit as an accountability partner. Writing can be a lonely hobby and I'm looking to inject a social aspect into it.
Primarily science fiction short stories, tending towards the hard sci fi side of things
I wouldn't be a great reader for YA.
Permutation City, and Axiomatic, both by Greg Egan
Exhaltation by Ted Chiang
The Dispossessed by Ursela Le Guin
Blindsight by Peter Watts
Accelerando by Charles Stross
I have a 1 year old son. Between that and an often stressful job, writing sometimes has to take a back seat. I currently work as a data scientist. In a previous life I worked as a neuroscientist and have a number of scientific publications to show for it.
