Someone who'd help me to fix the plot holes, upgrade the characterizations, pacing and tone of my book, give constructive criticism on my writing style and storytelling, and help me improve and refine my work before submitting it to the literary agent.
I write Mystery, Detective Thriller, Psychological Horror, Suspense stories, short stories at times and even screenplays for short films (stuff to shoot at home, not budgeted production). I've completed a book, The Human Error, working on its sequel and 4 stand-alone novels alongside.
The least favourite genres are Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Historical fiction (not if they involve some intriguing mystery), Biographical, Comedy and Romance.
The Silent Patient and The Maidens by Alex Michaelides. Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane. Think Of A Number by John Verdon. The Word Is Murder by Anthony Horowitz. Behind Her Eyes by Sarah Pinborough. The Girl On The Train by Paula Hawkins. Anything by Stephen King and Canon Doyle.
I'm 19 years old, 12th completed, preparing for Medical Entrance to become a doctor (don't know why). My passion is writing and I want it to be my career. I'm plotting a Detective Mystery series and concurrently, about 4 stand-alone novels. I have taken a creative writing course for about a year and a half, which helped me a bit. I've been in a book club, which didn't help me much. So I follow Stephen King's footsteps, as he once said, 'if you want to be a writer, you must do two things above all others: read a lot and write a lot.' And honestly, it helped me more than anything else. But that's just my way of seeing my work. I'd love a helping hand - a critique partner to validate it and make it even better.
