I'm looking for someone, who shares my reading/writing tastes, enjoys brainstorming, and general creative chatter. In exchange, I will gladly read and discuss your work, offer you any and all the help that I can.
I write screenplays, bad poetry, and morning pages.
I'm currently working on a YA fantasy novel and an Adult Urban Fantasy novel.
I would prefer to critique something in the fantasy/sci-fi/romance genre (because it's what I know and love), but really - I'm open to anything.
I read a lot in the fantasy/urban fantasy/paranormal genre. I also enjoy nonfiction. And I'm Russian, so there's a whole slew of classic Russian novels, which are dear to my heart.
Classics: Crime and Punishment (Dostoevskiy), Master and Margaret (Bulgakov), short stories by Gogol, The Captain's Daughter (Pushkin), C.S.Lewis's Narnia Chronicles, Roald Dahl's Matilda, The Witches, Astrid Lindgren's Ronja.
Fantasy/urban fantasy/paranormal: JK Rowling's Harry Potter Series, Holly Black's The Cruel Prince, Ilona Andrew's Kate Daniels series, Richelle Mead's Georgina Kincaid series, Karen Marie Moning's Fever series,
Romance: The Hating Game by Sally Thorne, Can You Keep A Secret? by Sophia Kinsella,
Nonfiction: Joseph Campbell's Hero With a Thousand Faces, The War of Art by Steven Pressfield, Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert.
I spent some time in Canada as a child and went back in 2015 to study screenwriting at the Vancouver Film School. I currently reside in Moscow, Russia and am hoping to make 2019 the year I finally finish a first draft. I can't say I have much to show for at this point. But I came to realize that in order to move forward I need to be part of a writing community, I need partners in crime. I love engaging with other writers, helping them figure what works and what doesn't. I'm hoping to inspire and be inspired by the people I meet here.
