I'm looking for someone to give my political thriller a good read and get their reaction -- does it hang together, is it boring, does someone need to die earlier, are there plot holes I've missed, etc., etc. Bonus points if you are a lawyer!
By day, I'm a business writer, but I'm working on my first novel. It's a political thriller/mystery.
I haven't read much science fiction, so I don't know if I would be the right audience.
To Kill a Mockingbird, Angle of Repose, Richard Ben Cramer's What it Takes: The Way to the White House, and Katharine Graham's Personal History. I also like Tana French's Dublin Murder Squad mysteries and Louise Penny's Three Pines mysteries. Lately, I've been reading poetry and non-fiction because I can't read mysteries or thrillers while I'm working on my own.
