What I need help with most is brainstorming.
Fantasy, mystery, comedy of manners, and adventure — always historical (I favourize the Regency, Victorian, and Edwardian eras, but plan to explore the Tudor period and yet-unspecified ancient civilizations at some point).
Hardcore space science fiction is not for me due to my aversion to space/futuristic settings.

I will read almost any genre as long as the story doesn't drag. I adore gothic historicals with castles, asylums, and dark omens.
