Long term. Someone who's writing in a similar genre to me. I'm looking for someone to focus on plot, character development/believability, and pacing, more than spelling and grammar. I want to get fully invested in my partner's story and be able to fangirl about it with them, and I would really love someone to be able to do the same with me.
While I want someone who will take this seriously and work hard, I also want to form a friendship with my CP and talk about writing and non-writing related things regularly. Someonw who is comfortable being casual and fangirly. I would also love someone who's down to talk a lot about world building, as that's a big big part of my work. (I'm working on my own languages for my different fantasy nations.)
My goal is to be published one day, and I would prefer a CP who is also passionate and serios about writing.
Fantasy, fantasy, fantasy. Fairytale retellings and angsty or fluffy romance are big for me. The WIP I'm currently giving the most of my attention to is going by the title "Of Painings and Princes" at the moment, but I've been working on different variations of this project for most of the last decade, so its had lots of different titles and probabaly will go through a lot more. Its my book baby.
MAGGIE is a college girl who just wants to paint, stuck in a fantasy world with more ties to her life than she realizes.
KINDLE is a wayward dragon dealing with PTSD, an obsessive fairy queen, and a stalling rebellion.
ELLE, who wants nothing more than to find her missing best friend, is stuck babysitting (not literally) an angel (literally.)
"Of Paintings and Princes" is a dark YA portal fantasy with dragons, mermaids, fairies, angels, slow-burn romance, political drama, a large and diverse ensemble cast, and a casual, easy-to-understand aproach to high fantasy.
I'm not the best match for general, contemporary fiction. I read and write for an escape from real life, so I prefer fantasy adventures. 🙂
I'm also not a good match for westerns, horror, or erotica.
Neil Gaiman and Rosamund Hodge are my favorite authors. I have read pretty much every Shakespeare play.
