I'm looking for someone who can simultaneously support me and help build me up in the writing space, while also delivering a good ol' ass kicking when I need it (in the form of direct and actionable feedback to improve my writing). My ideal partner would be someone I have a personal connection with who wants a writing best-friend where we can be open and honest about our struggles and successes and help each other mutually grow in our craft.
I'm currently writing a modern, character-driven literary romance. My writing style is focused on a clear character voice with funny, awkward situations and realistic applications of modern love and dating.
I'm open to pretty much anything, although I have less experience (as a reader) with non-fiction.
This is a really hard one to answer. I love reading and will pick up just about anything. Some of my favorites (all time and recent) include The Wedding People, James, The Goldfinch, anything Emily Henry or Sarah J. Maas, The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, Migrations, any good thriller, Harry Potter (yes, I am a millennial), and things that incorporate magical realism, a la The Midnight Library.
I'm a mom of two toddlers and still work as a therapist, so sometimes life gets really busy. I'd love someone who can help me stay accountable and really wants to build a supportive relationship.
