LONG TERM. I can't emphasize this enough! I've been looking for a dedicated CP for over two years and been very, very unlucky. I've tried tumblr, twitter, Maggie Stiefvater's CP matchup multiple times. My long-term CP last year just stopped talking to me out of nowhere. I've tried to find others, but they're just too busy to read/crit more than once every few months, and usually only a chapter at a time. That, or they just disappear, even after promising to communicate if they decide they're not interested anymore. If you're going to do that, just don't write to me at all please! It'll spare us both.

That out of the way, I'm looking for someone who will want to swap frequently (at least once every week or so) OR will critique complete manuscripts in one chunk. I love brainstorm sessions and talking about writing in general, so someone who wants to chat outside of strictly critting is always welcome! Communication for me is absolutely necessary and I take writing and CPing very seriously. If there is some reason you don't want to continue or you change your mind, TELL ME. I will not be angry or offended, but I don't want radio silence! However, I do ask that if you contact me, you take it seriously. If there's a reason you think we wouldn't be a good match, or our topics aren't suited to each other's tastes, please consider it during the trial swap. Like querying an agent, finding the right CP is a crucial part of the process and neither of us wants to settle for the wrong one!

I write exclusively YA and primarily SFF/historical. I'm currently querying my most recent project, a gender-swapped retelling of Beauty and the Beast set in fictionalized Russia, and I've just won NaNoWriMo with my newest WIP. It's sci-fi-lite-lite set in post-nuclear fallout 1987. I'd call it Stranger Things meets Fallout 4 with a candy-coated aesthetic.

I'm not a good match for contemporary. It's just not my thing, since I'm that person who thinks, yeah, this is good, but WHAT IF WE ADD MAGIC? I'm also not good for hard sci-fi (too dumb) or intense horror (too paranoid). Creepy, Victoriana horror with a more eery edge than that of a jumpscare bloods-and-guts take is way up my alley, though. Think more American Mcgee than American Psycho.

The Lunar Chronicles is my favorite book series in recent memory! My tumblr was dedicated to it 100%, once upon a time. I also love Entwined, Mistborn, The Winner's Curse, Harry Potter, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Ink and Bone, Wildwood Dancing, Vengeance Road, Illuminae, and dozens others. I'm a huge classics fan and my favorite novel of all time is Persuasion. I also love LoTR, anything else Austen or Dickens, or Elizabeth Gaskell, among others. I love classic fairytales and retellings of all sorts (my one true weakness).

I'm twenty-one and writing with the goal of publication. I take writing seriously, like a career, and would definitely appreciate a CP with the same outlook. I'm a tea and coffee drinker, but more tea than anything. Firm believer in the Oxford comma. Aside from writing, I draw and paint, I love gaming, casual or otherwise, and I write book reviews in my free time. I love cats, I have three, and love wintertime. I have super strong opinions and I'm not afraid to be honest, but I also don't believe in being cruel for no reason. I LOVE complimenting good writing and reading lovely turns of phrase.
