I would love to have a critique partner who is able to tell me: does any of it make sense at all? Where do you stop reading and why? And, do you want to read more? In a very nice, kind, super-supportive way, of course!
I mainly write fantasy. I have written lots of short stories (unpublished) and wrote scripts for Hollywood for a time. This is my first novel, probably because I really didn't have any patience to write something this long until I began aging disgracefully.
Nope. But I reckon I enjoy reading: fantasy, comedy, adventure books, so if you write that, it would be a plus!
I'm a big fan of Naomi Novik: her Temeraire series and Uprooted are my favourites. My favourite childhood books were Lloyd Alexander's The Chronicles of Prydain, which had a lifelong effect on me (I used to believe that if I tried hard enough, I could squeeze myself into a book's story).
I've been a teacher, worked in law and in Hollywood as a screenwriter and crew for tv and movie productions. I also have interests in macroeconomics, astrology, martial arts and animals, lots of animals (dogs, cats, hedgehogs, whatever you got, I like it!) The foundation of my life has always been storytelling, particularly in books and movies.
